  • Great drive belt deal on Amazon

I just took delivery of a new Gates belt for my mid-80's Argo 8x8 I/C model from Amazon. It was a whopping $27.92 with free shipping, even to me here in Alaska. That's a tough price to beat anywhere! Key in "Gates PL30090 Drive Belt" on the Amazon search box and it will come up. They have three left in stock, but have more on the way.

I have probably 40 hours on the belt by now, with no wear or slippage. It works.

For you guys with newer rigs, it may help to do a cross reference to Gates for your belts. Argo is VERY proud of their belts, and I refuse to pay their hopelessly inflated prices. Between Argo and Polaris, I'm not sure who inflates their parts more. The only thing I buy from Argo is brake pads and caliper parts, and that's only because I can't find them anywhere in the after market world.

That's a great find, Bob, esp for Alaska! I ordered one, guess I should replace it every 13 years whether I need to or not That's a poke at John Schwab who has gone through several belts in the tough Haspin crawling rides. I googled around and found a gates site that listed applications.. it looks like this belt fits most everything up until the frontier/avenger which changed their clutches/belt. I don't know how far back it goes, I guess a long ways as it fits your 8x8 IC. What I found:

gates power link all but avenger 459-PL 30090

    '05-'07 avenger 674cc/748 efi 459-PL30076

I don't know how this belt compares to oem, and it seems there was a belt upgrade for problems on the avenger/frontier? don't remember.. but $28 delivered is hard to beat.
