  • Ice Auger Holder

    Hi everyone,

New to the site and I am looking for some advice on outfitting my frontier with an ice auger holder/rack. What's everyone use? I haven't found any aftermarket products other than the atv accessories. Would you use the ones that mount flat ? Would hate to start drilling holes in the hood if there was actually a better way to haul my auger. If you have pics of what you use that would be great. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Trebmaster but I'm looking for something that can be mounted on the argo...similar to the atv racks that carry augers on the back. I suppose that I could use a flat mounted auger rack. I've seen pictures of argo's on the ice with the auger's mounted up front. Just not sure what kind people are using as I couldn't zoom in close enough to see the type. Maybe a lot of people are just fabricating their own.

cool....I wasn't able to afford the windshield and soft top yet. I like your idea though. Did you make your tracks?

they are just a length of convayor belt that will reach all the way around the 3 tires. 4 inches wider then the tire, then half moons cut every 4 inches to flare around the tire when they are inflated. They work well in snow but tend to walk out of them if you get on dirt or blacktop. altho you can walk back in just as easy.

I don't know what kind of auger you have, but here is a pic of how I mounted my gas auger on the front of my Argo, hope it gives you some ideas

Thanks runamuk....looks like everyone basically fabricates their own. I think that I'll take this season to come up with a plan for next year. Don't want to do something hastily. I'll just tote it in the sled for now.

I too have been putting some thought into this. I have been thinking of structure that carries the weight on the hitch and is stablized by the trolling motor mount. Basically, the vertical frame has a fork that has holes that match the pin hole in the hitch and attaches via a longer pin. Then higher up has something similar to a motor clamp to the motor mount. From there a way to carry two in a vertical position. But I haven't cut metal yet.
