I put my 3/4" x 3/4" vintage ice cleats on my 13" track over the weekend. They fit like a glove and should work great. I'll try to post some pics tonight. They are on the very outside of my track and could be doubled up for added traction (fit perfectly in the larger paddle grove each section has. I cleated every other track section. The set I found on ebay only had 50, so I couldn't double every other track piece up. I put a washer under each cleat to get about a half inch grab. Will be fishing this weekend on ice, so I'll let you know how well they work.

A section of track with double ice cleats. These are 3/4" x 3/4"

A pic showing the larger of the two grooves in front of the paddle. Fits perfectly in here

Giving me about a 1/2" bite

You can see the small washer that I used to get a better bite by lifting the cleat

Hope it works for ice traction and loading on to the snowmobile trailer. I'll let you know this weekend when I give them a test. I did both sets of tracks for about $40 with hardware. These cleats are just old snowmobile cleats that I found on ebay.

Yes, same size and same company selling them plott hound. I missed out on a package of 50 with hardware last week but it ended up being less expensive to grab it on my own.

Those look awesome. I would be interested in how having them every other section affected steering.

I have the Kold Kutters being shipped now and I'll post picks to show how I install them. I'm interesed to see if I run them hard on ice if they will just pull out.

how do you install the kold cutters?unless the screw part is real short they will shred your tires

                    I have two ideas.

The screws I bought are 1/2 inch long #8 shaft. The grouser bars on the tracks are 3/16 inch wide by 5/8 to 3/4 inch tall. At the intersection of the lateral and longitudinal bars there is a bit more material. I plan on a small pilot hole and expect the plastic to be, well, plastic around the screw. I can do this outside the tires if I need to because I have supertracks but I will definately call the experiment off if it looks like it will damage the tires. I don't know if this will work because the skidsteering may pull the screws out.

Choice 2 was to make HDPE or hard rubber blocks to be bolted into the factory cleat position that I then put the screws into. After seeing starcraft's pics I would probably now go that way instead.

                          My install is here http://www.6x6world.com/forums/argo-...pertracks.html

17.95 for 250. I haven't had the chance to put it on ice but from the marks on the driveway and the noise it makes I think this will work very well.

You lucky duck. Our ice fishing season is a month and a half late and I'm beginning the think we won't see one. We are having 40 and 50 degree (f) days here. I am going to have to travel to find ice.

Just curious plott hound, are you driving those tec screws into the track from the outside and using the head for traction, or are you driving them in from the inside and using the screw tip for traction?
I had thought about using "self tapping" screws with the carbide tip. drive them through from the inside and put a washer and nut on them from the outside.

gonna try the heads for traction.just like we used to wind them into knobby tires on dirt bikes.im so tight for space bettween track and upper body, that im afraid to go any higher.hopefully they wont ice up and become useless.i wound them through the track into the edge of the keepers, doubt that they will pull out.
