Trying to figure out what year and model this might be, this is something we've had in the family since i was a kid, engine blew awhile back (10-15yrs ago) has been in storage ever since. Everything seems to be in top working order (replacing engine over xmas vacay)
^^ exactly! just a K series prob 85-87, throw a nice Vanguard in it and you'll be good for another 20 years lol oh i have a hood in that color for your machine if you need one!

I wanted to thank you all for the responses! I have been busy trying to nail down the wiring and battery issues since Xmas.........have finally buttoned everything up but wouldn't you know there is ALWAYS something to keep you busy with an Argo! Lol
Now it seems there is something up with the transmission.....I put in high, all works fine, but when I came to reverse it into the shed......duh the lever flows freely in all directions lmao! The pin seems to be in tact for the shaft (tbc) but I was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience. Keep in mind it is presently engaged in high, does not nor did it ever make any weird grinding or popping noises, just seems as though the lever arm and shaft are no longer communicating. Is there another pin inside the case that could have sheared off?
I actually have the hood for it, I just have to modify it somehow since the new kohler 23 sits higher than the original 17 that met it's early demise by being drowned to death hrs ago lmfao.
Yes terrible design by Argo, you need to split the trans and buy the updated shifter pin, i forget the part number but can get if needed, also make sure you get the broken pin that fell down to the bottom out

That is in fact exactly what needs to be done! I spilt the tranny, retrieved the sheared off selector pin. It seems someone before me also had the same misfortune since I see that someone had done a pretty smarter weld job on the lever arm located inside the tranny. Now patience is a virtue waiting for these replacement parts!
If you could confirm that P/N it would be much appreciated to make sure I'm getting the same piece I have in mind! You know what they say, two heads are better than one !
ill have to look it up i have the manuals on my other computer but yes you need the updated arm collar and tiny c clip and a new trans gasket as well and your all set for reassembly

Went to my local Quebec Argo dealer and ordered the parts.....they say about a week so I'm anxiously awaiting because soon it will be horsefly/blackfly/mosquito season which means no one in their right mind goes out in the bush in our area lol
