anyone have any ideas for what to use for guides for home made tracks? i am referring to the blocks that keep the tracks for rolling off the tires?

In your searches look for "grouser". I've seen the metal bolduc grousers up close and they don't look too hard to make. (bolduc makes tracks and is an Argo dealer in Canada. Google will find him)
Whoops, grousers are only the part that does the grabbing on the outside of the tracks, I got messed up because a lot of track designs incorporate the tire guides into the grousers. (been visiting a site where guys rebuild snowcats.)
Sooo, wrong about the name but the Bolduc "tire guides" look pretty easy to build.
