I had trouble removing the grease gun while greasing the outside bearings on my 650HD. I started out using a grease gun with a rigid tube with a slight bend to position the grease gun fitting straight on the alemite when reaching through the holes in the rims. I was trying to pull the grease gun straight off and pulled one of the alemites out (they are press-in instead of the thread-in type).
I removed the tracks and tires from my machine and discovered a simple trick that made me feel stupid afterwards.
