  • argo pulls to the right

finally got out fishing today in the argo.damn machine keeps pulling to the right and have to constantly pull left lever to correct it.i have tracks on and all the tires are at 4 psi.what would cause this?

    thanks.

just went through this myself, even thou your tires are all the same psi they can range in size up to two inches. Also you may try to switch the tracks from side to side I measured my tires and inflated them until they were all the same size. Tracks are kinda of a pain in the rear end.

Measure the circumference of the tires and get them all the same. Air pressure does not always mean they will be the same. A sewing tape will work great for this job.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

When you lay your tracks flat on the ground, check to see if they have a curve in them. If they do, put curve toward the inside. Ron

I haven't ran tracks but once, but if i may suggest. Once you find the circ. record the pressure of each wheel in location on a chart and keep the pressures to that spec and this should help to avoid windup and pulling. Rock Doctor is more of a expert on this then me but this might help. A good low pressure gauge would be great help with this. Drag racers use the low pressure gauges on their tires for precise adjustment. The more expensive the more precise even down to hundredths, very expensive. Here is a $66.00 one that reads to a half pound. Intercomp 360065 jegs sales it.

Moroso 89540 - Moroso Digital Tire Pressure Gauges $161.00 Measures to hundredths.

            Just a little input.

now that all the slush is melted off the machine i see that my right side track is a little slack.gonna pump up tires on that side and see what happens.if that dont correct the problem then its off with the tracks time.tell you one thing though, going through slush on the lake is only possible with tracks.damn old machine labours in slush but it keeps on pawing through it.

I used a wire and bent it around what I felt was the biggest tire in a circle. Then I just put the circle wire around the rest of the tires and inflated until they were all the same size.

I used to race a Terra Tiger in the early 70's and we used a gauge made out of square steel that would fit just over the outside of the wheels and you would know instantly if one was lower than the other. A lot of the race tracks back then where on fairground that are primarily horse racing tracks with the start and finish in front of the grandstand. This long straight away necessitated a slightly larger tire size on the rt side so that you would have a slight pull to the left.

Hey PlottHound, I know what you mean, it can be quite a pita correcting all the time. Like everyone else, the same circumferance is key and Like RWT said keep the curves opposite to one another. This applies to supertracks not sure on standard tracks. How was the fishing? got any more pics. of those monsterfish?
