  • Argo Standard tracks Vs Super tracks

I have the standard tracks and have found it more difficult to turn in deeper snow and it does not climb hills very well. My question is are the super tracks better when it comes to turnng the machine. I havent been stuck with the standard tracks but it seems harder to keep the machine going straight with them.

I agree on the "going straight" observation!
Mine doesn´t keep a straight path either with the standard tracks,so it would be nice to find out.

I have standard tracks, Supertracks, and Rubber tracks. All of them remind me of following Deer, they couldn't travel a straight line in snow if their lives depended on it. ANY little inconsistency in the snow will cause the machine to turn, Drifts, covered trails, Animal tracks, logs, willows, air pockets, ect. Any little change in lift, or traction will cause a slight turn.
The Supertracks are able to keep you up better, so they do turn better. It's still easy to spin the snow out from under a track while turning though. Sometimes you have to turn a bit at a time.

I have the supertracks and I agree with RD. If the snow is deep don't turn to sharp cause you will dig a hole and be stuck. I turn a little bit at a time or reverse and turn and then ahead and turn. My argos doen't go straight anywhere.

I found that out this weekend....had to winch out of 3' of snow. Tried to turn too much and just dug myself a hole.

How about slushy ice conditions? The lake I am going to this weekend has about twelve inches of snow with about six inches of slush under it in some spots. Do you guys have any experience with conditions like this? This will be the first time out ice fishing with it like this. Am I asking for trouble or should I just take the long track snowmobile?

The only trouble I have had with slush was it would stick to the tracks in the right conditions and bang on the underside of the tub. I was stuck instantly one time in slush without tracks. Never been stuck in slush or snow with supertracks on. (yet)
