how deep of snow will a 6x6 go through without the tracks and still make it?
is there an tricks to turning in the deep snow without digging a BIG, DEEP hole and being stuck?

    Hey Chapy,

It sounds silly, but it really depends on the type of snow. My Attexes can trudge through about a solid foot of light powder without much of an issue. It just doesn't pack up under the machines that badly. I just had the RIM out last week, and it was just about stopped in it's tracks in only about 6 inches of the more dense, "greasy" type of snow. The snow packed up under the bellly, and just slowed it right down. The tires had very little, if anything, to do with it. Any tire will lose traction when it's off the ground...

As far as the digging a hole when turning, try to make turns more gradually if possible. Once the "skid" in "skid steer" takes over, you start spinning tires, and digging holes. If you can take a turn over a longer distance, you're less apt. to dig down. I'm still re-learning most of my trackless snow driving myself....
