      That's one I never thought of. I'm no expert on Porkies, but don't they hibernate?, do they come out on warm days in the winter?
      Good thought though, I'm going to look a little closer the next time I go by there.

                ive seen porcupines out in the middle of december when late season moose hunting. to tell you the truth im not sure if they do hibernate or not. ones i seen must have gotten hungry if they do.

                  they dont hibernate,just slow up.rarely wander far from the den,easy to find them in the winter.just follow the poopy smell.

                    LOL, I always thought that if Porcupines were to slow down any more, they would end up going backwards. They're like the Sloth of the North.
