  • Swapping an admiral into a conquest

    Hey everyone,
Not sure if this has been discussed before, but has anyone attempted to install an admiral transmission in a conquest, or any older machine for that matter? I am thinking that this may be a good project for next winter if its anywhere near possible.

I thought about putting one into my Frontier 650, but when i priced out the Admiral Transmission I found that it would be just short of $4000 plus any other parts I would need for the switch plus labour.

I agree with junkman. I have seen a 1999 ,Argo Bigfoot with 22' inch tires and Adair tracks on it go every where that two 2011 ,Argo Frontier's with Adair tracks on them were able to go , and with out any problems. Installing a set of Adair tracks on an older Argo will turn it into an almost unstoppable machine. I have yet to find any mud hole that can stop me yet with the Adair tracks on my 2011, Argo Frontier. The only thing that will stop you with these tracks on, is to get your machine high centered or wedged in between two narrow hard dirt rutts.

With the disc brake and disc that are mounted on either side of the admiral transmission you wont have enough room to install one in an older Argo. I was told this by an Argo dealer when I asked him about this swap.
