Nothing happens when I turn the switch on my Argo. No power to gauges, lights or anything. It is as if I never turned the switch. I have checked the battery and all the fuses. All appear to be OK. I am suspecting a bad ignition switch unless there is some kind of relay or circuit breaker that could have popped. Has anyone seen this before and how was it fixed? This is on a 98 Argo Conquest with Kawasaki engine.

    Hi,
I had a very similer problem with our 97 Conquest (Kawasaki engine). I don't know if you have the same problem as we had with power failure, but could be?? Check the main fuse block in the engine compartment. The block is against the fire wall. The main 30 amp fuse in ours has a bad connection to the wiring where the blade prongs go in and I have lost all power on my machine. This has happened when driving so it is a nuisance. I have not repaired it to date but aware as to what to due if power fails. I just wiggle the wires and the fuse and the power comes back on. On the to do list is to install a new fuse block. Turn the key on and then wiggle to wires at the back of the fuse block and wiggle the fuse (check the fuse blades may be burnt) If this is the same problem as we had the fan will come on and you will know if power is restored. Hope this helps. May not be your problem but this can cause main power failure.

That sure sounds like it could be he problem as the first couple times it happened I checked fuses and wiggled wires and it would start working. However I remove the fuse block with the 30 amp fuse and all seems well. I didn't find anything that looked bad. Could a bad starter or solenoid cause the problem? I figured since I don't have any power even before turning the key to start that it was probably not one of these. Not sure where to look next. Any help will be appreciated.

Found the problem. While the lead battery terminal was tight the bolt holding the power supply wire to it had worked loose. Tightened it up and all is well.

My conquest has the fuse block problem as well. Must be something about the design. Haven't changed mine yet, the wiggle always works.

              Hi ALL,
Some of the past threads have mentioned argo fuse blocks, found in the engine compartment. I don't know about all models of argos. This refers to my 97 Conquest with the Kawasaki Engine. I found only one fuse block. I moved mine to make it accessible. If a person with this model argo has to replace the fuse block, the factory block comes in pieces. The wiring connectors have to be installed in the block. This does not include the wiring. You must provide your own wire.

There are two fuse blocks in under the dash. I undid the screws and mounted mine out in the open on the frame at the back of the hood. These are 98 and 99 argo conquests.
