  • escargo tracks ?

out of timmins ontario anyone ever try these? How do they work? Their web site videos look good.

I think they look good, and would love to try them.
I have emailed them and asked for a quote a couple times but they have never replied.
After some words from another member here, I got to looking at them a little closer, and can't see why a person could'nt make a set themselves. Yes, it would take some repetitive work, but there is no rocket science to them.
I do think they look quite heavy, but from the clips I have seen, they will go just about anywhere.

They do look like they'll leave a mark on the ground with the steel paddles.

I have been salivating over these as well....I have also been thinking about building a set. A friend of a friend has a water jet machine, and I am going to get a quote from him to cut about 120 paddles(guesstimation we came up with for the Hustler).....by my way of figuring the upside is go absolutely anywhere. Downsides would be wheel extensions, and axle bearing cages would also be necessary.

BTW, I did get in contact with them about two weeks ago, the price they quoted me was 3200. Unfortunately, I do not yet have a firstborn to mortgage

The folks at eccargo have not returned my e-mails regarding the prices. Which track setup was quoted at 3200?

            Escargo

I spoke with them about 2 years ago. They had recommended that their tracks would not be best for my application, mainly snow. They were designed for bog and swamps according to the person, and the 'paddles" would get packed with snow and ice. After using rubber tracks for a few years now, I still see that the Escargo would be good for snow as the blades would cut down through the snow and resist slipping. On a side note, they were using (and could still be) the Bolduc track, however if you look at the Escargo, it is essentially two 5-6" wide strips bolted together with the blades, thus your tires are now completely closed by rubber.

I don't know exactly which kit they quoted me, but I had to explain to them that a Hustler was about the same as a Max IV or Argo 6x6, so I am assuming it would be the Argo 6x6 kit.................

                    Escargot Tracks

My friend had Escargo tracks on his conquest and liked them because they swim a little. When he moved up to an Avenger he got the rubber tracks:
                    1. they fit the big tires,(escargos only fit the Frontier tires)
2.Need a roof or a big big mudflap with the escargos because they PUMP water up the back, big time.
                    3. on a stone beach they throw stones so bad that the driver has to crawl along to keep stones from coming through the back window.

                              Argo in the Mud

I believe that Video was filmed at Blackwater creek in South carolina, thats a hunting club off of exit 42 on I-95. I pass this area almost everyday while I am working and lust looking at all the great places to ride. Mike maybe could make some friends with the people that own this area.
