  • removing belt argo avenger

Does anybody knows an easy way to remove the drive belt on the argo avenger 2005 kohler aegis 26 hp engine?

    Put the trans in N
Pull the belt to the side a bit (Away from the trans)
    Roll the Secondary clutch backwards
    Belt should come right off

Thank you, I'm also having a lot of problem removing the transmission drain plug. It is so tight that I'm afraid of striiping or breaking. Can I just pump out the oil or it is necessary to remove to drain plug.
Sorry, I'm not a mechanic but try to do maintenance. With experience I'll learn

Sounds like someone put "Locktight" or another similar product on it.
First make sure you have the proper size wrench/socket (Box end of the wrench or Socket preferably), then try it again. If you just can not get it, try (CAREFULLY) heating it with something like a BENZO Torch, or even a Micro Torch. Try it again after it's heated up.
        Hopefully that works for you.

NOTE, Drain plugs don't need to be screeming tight.

          Thank you RD,
I got the belt out and with a lot of strenght I got the transy drain plug out. I put SAE80W90 in it. I hope it's ok. I also got the engine motor oil pumped out. Thank's to this site. I can learn a lot and not having to bring the argo to the dealer.

80W90 is fine. You might want to add a few ounces of "Limited Slip Differential" Additive to it. Not required, but some guys think it helps.
