  • 6x6 Chain Lengths

Have a new to me 1990 6x6. Rear drivers side chain is loose enough to ride the support box tubing.... so I'm going to replace all the chains and have it done with. I searched and cannot find how much total 50-2 chain I need to do the whole machine. I can get local chain at $13.00 / ft for Japanese and $4.00/ft "import" I'm guessing China.

Thanks in advance.... this is a great site!

Spend the $$ and get diamond chain. I can put up specific info on this chain if you like, my 2 cents

        chain

You will need about 40 ft. to do the whole machine. If you buy cheap chain, you get cheap chain, and it won't last long.

Thanks. So 40 feet of quality RC #50-2 with 5/8" pitch will do the whole machine, correct? Do I need anything else such as master links to get the job done or can I use the old ones? The sliders are in good shape so I'll keep them.

Check the chain coming from the tranny to make sure what size it is. Some have 40-2. Mine is a 1990 and has 50-2 all around. Have a good one

If you have a Motion Industries near you they carry Quality Diamond chain. Please stay away from the cheap stuff.....these things are tough to push! They (Diamond) also sale a cheaper grade but stay away from it also. Good chain is not cheap but it will last a long time when maintained correctly. I have 230 hrs on mine and it is still fine and i can probably go another 200 hrs. The current chain is now 5 years old on my 06 Avenger.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
