Accessories bolted to front axle bearing extension

On my Magnum I would like to mount a winch (or capstan) without welding a plate attachment through the tub to front bottom steel tube (frame) but by using axle bearing extension's bolting, any views or photos of some guys using that part for accessorry bolting-on.

Also these question, what is the difference between a RC-50 & RS-50 chain and any pro's and cons of using 1/2 links to shorten a chain?

I would get the good chain. Check out the price of the sprockets if you think the chain is expensive. Also figure out the time or expense of changing the sprockets. I would never use a half link in any of my applications. It means your chain is wore out and the chain is riding up on the sprockets and wearing them out wrong. Then when you put on new chain it wears it out at a faster rate. Good chain is cheap and it's easy to replace.

Slim, if I maid this change it would be on left and right sides in pairs not to have uneven lenghts of chains that would probably damage sprockets by. Compared to poor maintenance conditions I see with some owners in terms of lubrication these chains and sprockets are impeccable, just slack. Has far as distributors sayings, half-links are tested items. The answers I'm looking is from guy's who have tested, but I thank you for your attention.

Thanks *Fasteddiesllc I've checked the photos gallery and was instructed by a dealer mechanic who showed me different ways of attaching accessories and informed me that maybe Argo would still supply the original package mounting.

To Slim: I've been looking at stretching ratio percentage per total links of a chain to figure what can eventually happen with half-links. Here's what I found, I cannot install a half-link from idler to front sprocket (not enough slack), o.k all others. Would that speed-up rotation of 2,3,4 wheel and if so, having now, loose chains, (that are still controlled by the chain tentioners) am I having slower rotation of 2,3,4 wheels compared to front wheel?
The funny thing when looking at the parts manual front sprocket to #2 axle sprocket is 24/25 from #2 to #3 axle sprocket is 24/25 but from #3 to #4 axle sprocket is 25/25, hum!

The size of the sprockets determine the speed of the two axles, not the chain. If they are the same number of cogs on both sprockets the axles will turn the same speed, even if you have extra links in the chain.
As for half links, on combines, swathers, hay processors, balers, and anything else driven by chain, if I had problems it was most always a half link, the weakest link in the chain.

You gotta fix it so it's up to you what you put on it. I just don't like having trouble and my machines seldom cause me any touble.

I'm pushing 65 hp in a 99 Conquest for about three years. If I need the horses I use them. When I get a chance I'll have someone video this thing from a standing start. I have little mechanical problems

Good maintenance, good grease and good oil, simple as that.
