I'm going to say it doesn't really matter. I usually haul what I can, if it's too long or bulky I will tow. Alternativly, for something like a huge log, if it's too heavy to tow (Argo just spins tires), I will use the winch to lift one end so I get more weight on my tires. Sometimes this will allow me to tow in reverse. This is risky though, it puts a lot of stress on things that are not designed for that kind of abuse. Caution is advised.Originally posted by bucky View Post93 magnum 18hp...like to haul logs,dock,etc...should i tow or use my winch??? just wondering what the best procedure is...dont want to damage anything...thanks,all help is appreciated....

I can agree with RC,I just recently pulled out my 80´Chevy K15,who was stuck after braking trough the ice over a not visible ditch witch swallowed my front left tire, leaving the rest spin nicely but useless. My Argo made an easy job out of it and even though I had to pull in reverse (to have the pulling push down on my front so I had grip). After all:Argos aren´t toy´s but work horses and ODG never said different (OK,the Tec series of the eighties may be a little different, but my I/C is definitely a pure bred work horse).
