ODG (Argo) 3 Wheeler!!!

As I have mentioned in a few other threads, (It's also in my signature...) I am a big fan of 3 wheelers. I have a small collection of my own, and love messing with them. I recently joined a 3 wheeler forum (3WHeeLeR WoRLD - Forums, Brochures, Specificiations, Technical Assistance, and More!) for advice and information. I was looking through their "Explore the Unknown" section, and came across a link to a "Taurus" trike. 3WHeeLeR WoRLD Taurus PaGe It says it was made by ODG (Ontario Drive & Gear, they make the Argo 6 wheelers). According to the specs listed on the site, it has a Hi/Lo range tranny with reverse, an 8 horse Briggs engine, hydraulic disk brakes, 7.5" front suspension travel (5" rear), 7 gallon gas tank, 12" of ground clearance under the engine, the front rack will hold 100lbs and the rear 250lbs!!!!(thats more than most modern 4 wheelers!) Has anyone ever herd of this trike? It doesn't say how many were produced, but they were most likely produced in the late 80's up to '87, when production was halted becuase of the Consent Decree (U.S. 3 wheeler ban). Has anyone ever seen one of these? It sounds like an awesome 3 wheeler, I'd love to know more about it! If anyone just happens to know where one of these is, I'd also be interested in buying it.

I know that Randy (not sure of his user name on the site here) had one. Don picked it up for him and we all met at my place and made the exchange along with the Attex 8x8 that Don brought for me. I remember Randy, Don, Amphiman, and myself loaded it, and that thing was heavy! It had a Briggs 16HP opposed twin I/C engine and big huge tires. It was larger than any other 3 wheeler I had come across. Kind of like a Swamp Fox compared to a Max.

Any chance you might have some pictures of that somewhere? Or it would be even better if you could find out if Randy still has his. I would love to find out more about this. I bet its a beast with that opposed Briggs! I believe it had 25-12-9 tires, the same size as a Honda Big Red, but I don't know how accurate that information is.

I don't think I have any pics, but Don might. I think Randy sold it last year. He had it on the Buffalo Craigslist. I think you're right about the tires too.....I remember checking it out and they were huge 25" tires, and they even looked a little bit small for how big the trike was. It must have been a torque monster with the oppossed twin Briggs!

That's a shame...If it ever surfaces for sale up there, I'd like to have it. I'm sure we could find a way to get it down here.....
