    Just wondering if anybody has ever built there own alt kit for a conquest.if so any pics or ideas???thanks

    I am no expert by far but from the reading that I have done it sounds like some guys use alternators from Chev sprints or tiny car engines.

      I have built up a alternator for one of my Conquests. Here's the alternator that Argo sold with thier kits:

      Denso - Japan - Regulator Built In
      18504-6220 or 100211-1680 (interchangable part numbers if I remember right)
      12V - 40 Amp

      When I bought mine I got it from Densoproducts.com for $119.33 plus shipping.

      I copied the mounting brackets from another alternator kit and had a machinist friend make me a pully for the motor. Unfortenetly I don't have the dimension of the brackets handy. If you have access so someone's machine with alternator on it and they'll let you take it off you can copy it with a little time.
