  • Argo Conquest have problems?

I was looking at a 99' conquest. I havent seen it in person but was interested in getting it,I read in another post and someone said they are Really slow and tend to have problems with the liquid cool kawasaki motor.
I know it goes without saying any machine could have problems if not maintained good,But does the conquest tend to have more problems then others?
Im looking more to play then anything so maybe the conquest is not for me,It seems more for the hunting/fishing trip with gear etc.
But im not looking to go blazing fast but what is the speed difference between a 8x8 conquest and say a 6x6 bigfoot? Is the gear alot lower in the conquest, therefore slower?
So I guess in closing what type of problems does it have, and how well does a air cooled machine do in the summer, Any Over heating problems?
I'll mostly be doing some trail riding, more woods and mud then anything and some winter driving also.

Depends, there are 3 different gearings available H M U(low). High is faster than I need to go in an Argo.
I have very few problems with my Kawi's, just don't feed them old fuel. No More problems than some and less problems than most.
If it has med or low geared trans, I would recommend it. It'll do anything you want ( as far as an aatv )

is there any way you could take it for a test ride? if so get it up to top speed.

i can't find the tag on my bigfoot tranny H M U but i am pretty sure it is U (low range) it is good for what i want to do but :

speed wise: last night i had it wide open on a farm road,at wide open it will outrun horse/deer flies but thats about it!

and at that speed the the tranny (i am thinking because of the gear ratio's) sounds like a gas turbine flashing up, for extended use at that "speed" you would need hearing protection
