Congrats, been there done that many times in my younger years with a limited budget, always great satisfaction when it was done and you did it right now with proper maintenance you will get to enjoy it for years,as far as a Argo or for that matter any AATV swimming,ya a bit of a yawner but the fact is anything else that you could drive to that lake would sink therein is the cool factor, stick a outboard on go for a troll.N.C.T

Swimming, i love the fact i don't have to carry a small boat to some of the out of the way lakes. I love driving my argo/ boat from the road/trail rite into the water, crossing the lake then driving it out the other side. I could never do that on my quad. Oh ya, my boat mud bogs & climbs hills too.

ok so i put the tracks on tonight oh coarse i did not make new pins and keepers yet so i put tracks on with out taken track apart a little trial and error and about hour and half tracks and spacers on I hope this will loosen pins so when i do make the stuff i will be able to get them apart oh yeah lots of pretty sea shells stuck in tracks.Tommorow will do same ride with tracks and see what happens Oh yeah patched the tire by putting patch inside .I really screwed up putting that stuff on rim it was hard to get them to break down but alas it is.As for driving to lake the hovercraft is a lot better .and 55 plus on the water is pretty cool but alas it wont go in the mud ............insert light bulb here what if you could get hover fan to drive argo. sounds like too much work have a good turkey day tommorow everyone

ok well now i have to ask why would one run just tires ,spent 2.5 swimming with super track today out on lake found hi idle and just sit back and lean to steer. Went in to the same area i was in yesterday with tire I went past that and into pure lake muck this thing just dont stop .Yeah i know adair tracks are so much better but I have moved heavy equipment off road for 30 years and i can only think of one other machine that would have went where i went today and it has auger screws for drive. I was wondering how in the world i was going to walk out to get something that could get me out.if i went down but it never went down just stayed up on it.But the sea shells and muck from the beach are still in track.diggging it out with screwdriver.

[QUOTE=reichstall;103395]ok well now i have to ask why would one run just tires
My reason for running only tires and alot of them,#1 Extra flotation, stability, load capacity,in water #2 No need for tracks where I run,no real bottomless bog, at least nothing I cant get thru, lots of rock to scale up,tracks for me are for the winter.N.C.T

                super track rebuild

Ok if any one had been following my prior post. You know that I was makeing new pins and keepers for track. If noone has ever taken there tracks apart.you want to pull a pin or two and look i was amazied at the wear on the pin but little or none on the plastic.I would have never thought they be that way. Also i am not sure if these were stock pins I am guessing yes but they are short to the point on some parts they had actually pulled out of the last hole they go in.The new pins I cut will extend about an 1/8 out side of last hole. Also if you can get them out and i fought it for a bit I put cutting wheel on 41/2 grinder and cut the pin in each slot it went through got to where i could do a section in under min .Got one side done today and other ready to go back tommorow oh yes lots of the pins were broken. just food for thought

Yea buddy been there done that, the proper pins extend about that 1/8 th of a inch so you got that nailed,it is amazing how that plastic stands up,them tracks got a ton of use on them or were used extensively in mud,big job for sure but worth it.N.C.T
