  • Making a argo better float and swim ?

    Hello,

we use, among others, a argo vanguard II (tires goodyear rawhide III 22x11x8, 4psi) and a 2006 argo bigfoot (tires goodyear rawhide III 25x12x19, 4psi) to stir lagoons (waste water treatment sites).

For this we need best swimming / floating features (for the wheels only to sink / dip half into the mud) and best drive to get ahed in the mud.

Are there better tires fitting on this argo 6x6, with more buoyancy and thrust in the water ?

Do twins have positive effects, do they bring a lot ?

We have a hydrpotraxx 645 TJ too, an a self developed german 6x6. Pictures added.

Thank you very much for your answers from germany

    Benedikt

welcome to the boards buddy! that is a crappy job.... sorry i couldnt help myself.

IF all you use the argo for is stirng the cess pools, and driving it up and down a wide path i would dual tire it. Just buy and adapter and run the 25X12X9 on the inside and add a 22X11X9 on the outside (or something like that) Just try to remember to run a SMALLER tire on the outside so it will still turn easy on hard packed gravel.

if you need help finding the adapters, give me a PM

Argo makes three tires, recently developed when Goodyear quit making ATV tires, that can be of use to you. They will swim about twice as fast as the rawhide III's. They are the 22" and 24" Frontier tires and the 25" Avenger tires. If you look through the tire section you should see a couple of posts on these tires. The only down side is that these tires are only available through your Argo dealer or Argo itself and they are expensive.
