My 15 Honda outboard's carb plugged up when due to my inattention I left some of that 10% ethanol in the thing just ONE winter....then last year got a tiny Suzuki 2.5 hp four stroke which ran like kaka on 10% but on (Shell) premium....no problem, purred like a kitten.

I think my kohler will get the same hi-test as well, if the stuff is going up to $1.60 a litre anyway might as well get the best for 10c more eh?
I was told that Shell hi octane was the only gas not to have any ethanol in it which is why I tried it.
    Seemed to work.

I only run High Test gas in the 2011 Avenger. The 10% alcohol is causing a few problems with the fuel injection and they are some of the items that MMax has mentioned. With the High Test gas i have not experiences any problems. The is High Test Pump gas.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

My Bandolero gets hot, and has preignition (pinging) sounds at lower and lower RPMs as it heats up. I ran it with octane booster in 91 octane gas. I am open to suggestions, tempted to try AVGAS next because there is a bunch of it on the East Ramp in Fairbanks
