  • Conquest crancase pressure

Anyone with a late 90's Conquest want to do a small test for me( with the FD620 Kaw)
Start your engine. Now remove the oil fill cap. Do you have alternating pressure/suction there. The reason I am asking is because I want to make sure I dont have a serious blowby issue. i took the carb apart and cleaned it sonicly. I changed the fuel and filter and spark plugs and the breaking plug issue went away. But now I have oil all over that valve cover and that area in general. Not sure if I didnt put the valve cover back on right when I was checking the pushrods/ rocker arms although I don't think you could really screwthat up. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas before I get my compression tester out and leakdown tester.

My 98 does. So if you have a problem so do I. I think that would be normal as the piston moves up and down. Let us know if you find differantly.
I had to stuck intakes last week. Had to clean the carb and fuel tank to get rid of the water and replace the push rods:-(
I think the water may have come from a bad gas container.

          thanks

Thanks for the quick replies guys. I am going to pop that cover off again and just make sure the gasket is sitting right. I believe it was the rubber type. I am goin to do a compression and leakdown test anyway before the weekend is over. I'll let you know what I come up with.

Valve cover gaskets ordered. I love when it is simple. Crankcase pressure 225lbs cold. Nice and tight.

That sounds high to me. How many hrs on the engine.

Also I think the reason I kept burning up spark plugs is because the exhaust valve had stuck. If the intake pushrod pops out from under the rocker and the intake valve doesn't open, no harm no foul. If combustion takes place and the exhaust valve is out of comission, that's when I imagine things can get ugly....
