I am a new member here. I recently got back from a moose hunting trip in northern Ontario. My Bigfoot nearly broke my back, hauling moose out of the bush. Has anyone had this problem, and what type of seat configuration would help out. I have a bad back, and the pounding is not doing it any good.....

First off, welcome to the site, lots of good people here.
As for your back problem..............Few ideas:
SLOW DOWN
You can "Spring" your seat, it takes a bit of imagination, but it can be done. I've seen it, but don't have pics.....Sorry.
Lower air press in tires. I run between 3.5 and 4.5psi (What do you run for press?)
6x6's are notoriously rough riding and like to "Buck", I prefer the 8x8 models personally.
ROBAXACET or T3's
I've also noticed a couple machines with extra thick seat padding, might help.
Cheers

Argo also offers a suspension seat now. This is an item that must come with a new machine. With a little imagination I'm sure it can be configured to fit your needs. There are also other suspension systems out on the market.
2011 seats are much softer and thicker than the previous models. A little imagination and maybe this could fit your need or just add more foam to your existing seat.Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"

i would love to see some pics of a sprung seat on a argo, i have seen pic's of them on max's.
i wonder how they mounted it over the gas tank with out adding too much height?
like rd said, slow down if you drive an argo like a quad you are going to be sore.

i was thinking about the spring post style seat you see guys put on max's (around 100 bucks at princess auto)
but by the time you add brackets, seat, and post (on top of fuel tank) an average sized person is going to be driving around with his head through the roof like dino flintstone.

Thanks for the info...speed is not a factor. It's the bouncing over logs and rocks while pulling moose out of the cutovers. I think a thicker padded seat will soften the jarring a bit. There's no way you can drive an Argo like a four wheeler. I've been operating these things since 2003. We use Centaurs in the swamps, spraying invasive plants. They work great, not nearly as rough a ride, but more than twice the cost !!

I have used both the HDI and Avenger. Both are great machines and are a lot less choppy to operate. I got the Big Foot because of it's short wheelbase for getting in and around trees and stumps. It's excellent for this operation, but I guess you give up some comfort to gain manoeuvrability.
