  • argo super sport

I'm trying to figure out if my argo is an early super sport model. It's got a Kohler 400 (not the 440) and it doesn't have the rear seat cover but it does have the stripe down the hood. Could this be an earlier ss model? does anyone have pics of a ss? I'm working on getting some pictures of mine up but the pieces are split between my house and cottage right now.

Teeko, look at my pics. Mine is a 1970, it has the stripe like the ss & it had the kohler 400 also. If you read your tag on the motor it has a spec # & the #'s are in series example 0001 through 9999 meens it was built before & during a certain year. I forget the exact way they are labeled, maybe someone else will chime in. I called a kohler dealer and an old timer explained it all to me a while ago. Hope this helps.

Hi fellas I had a late sixty,s possibly a seventy with a Kohler 399 it was a fiberglass body and had the stripe, the transmission on mine had the serial stating with SS,I was told at the time by Argo that it was in fact a SS,not too sure whether there were much other things different and not positive of the year at that time in Canada there were no ownership's.
