bit new need a little help please

first off i would like to start out by saying hi to everyone Bobby is the name

I have wanted an argo for along time and just found a (1997-8 not sure) conquest with 125 hrs on it

everything seems to be in great shape other than it bogs when turning. i was just woundering if thats normal because it makes steering a bit jearky. if not does anyone know where i can buy a new carb for it. i just rebuilt this one and it made a big diff. but its just not right.

Hi Bobby.

Rebuild it again if you think that is the problem. I think I've rebuilt mine a gazillion times. (Mostly to clean it)
Maybe replace all of the fuel line and the fuel filter. I did this so I wouldn't have to keep rebuilding the carb.
Check the fuel pump. Mine was pumping - I thought it was fine. I replaced mine just to see (and it was the last thing in the fuel circuit to try) and magically my problems vanished.
Check that it is firing both cylinders. (seen it)
Check that there are no stuck valves. Haven't seen it but have read about it here enough to know that these engines just do this. Especially with old gas.
Get new gas.
Rebuild the clutches. Just do it. It will be the single best thing you do. Invoke the search engine to find posts by Rock Doctor where he describes what you want do. Do the shim. Do the driven clutch adjustment. Do graphite.

And - finally - It will bog when turning. The transmission in these is very simple and the turning system steals power to do it. That is a part of this animal.

Oh, and if there is something more specific about the carb that you can describe then we could probably help there too. There are a couple of adjustments and a jet involved...

Hi Bobby, welcome to the site. John gave you a great reply. Like he said, that is normal when turning. It should bog less once you are rolling along. If you try to turn at a really slow speed or from a dead stop the engine will have a tougher time. The machine turns with brakes on the output of the transmission and by doing so it will take power from the engine like John said.

i will put some pics up tonight just finished greasing everything. ran some lucus(spelling lol) carb cleaner thru gas tank and made a world of diff. thanks for the info. it has got to be one of the best things i have bought in a while. my wife and 2 girls have a ball in it
