  • Two argos, twice the fun

Having 2 argos with cabs, and a sewing machine, has really got me thinking lately. I love Zincor's bed idea from the gallery, and WILL do this on both for camping.
I have done just a sheet of plywood before, the breaks in the middle. I like this idea, but will incorporate a hinged door to get to the cooler underneath on the front side, and the toolbox on the backside. I also like this idea

We have a small folding table, and chair, and it would be nice to make this vestibule. We also have a bear electric fence from UDAP that I could string around the two, and we have a tiny porta potty that could sit between the argos. It just occured to me that I ought to make chairs that hang off of the back of the argos.

IMG_1169.jpgIMG_1171.jpgI have just come out of a moose camp. I had no beds in the Argo...... but there is always next year. I happen to have a number of sewing machines. Some are small and lady like..... then others are made to work. The older steel machines are the best for heavy work. Although I have big walking foot type machines, I have sewn just about everything with the household sewing machine. A couple of years back, I gathered a few military tent panels. They come (here in Canada) in 8 foot widths with approx. 26 foot length. With a bit of engenuity, you can cut these up and make damn decent panels for custom tents. Used military suplus is usually cheap and made with top of the line materials..... If I ever figure out how to post pictures, I will show you what a tent panel can do to an Argo as an All Season Canopy..... (PS: I am better with a sewing machine than I am with the Computor)

Which reminds me. Anybody who can work on an Argo.... can probable figure out the sewing machine. Buy one for $20 at a garage sale and sew all the material you want for real cheap.
***Just figured out the photo thing.....This top sewn together in a couple of hours..... I used older material as I was unsure of lines to cut..... have established what I need..... now for the final product. PS: Note the rear window..... bug screen... sun shade... see through... all the luxuries of home. No reason another tarp cannot be snapped on to make for a shelter.

                FANTASTIC...AND A BIT RIDICULOUS!

I have often thought something like this might do
                Cabela's: Cabela's Deluxe Tent Cot
When I bought old green, it had a sheet of plywood for a top, and I thought this might be good for it. Funny, I wouldn't care at all anywhere but Alaska, but in Alaska, ya, get the heck away from the bear!!!

i thought it would be the taj mahall of argo camping. I always bring my early warning system for camping in bear country, he is a golden retreiver. The tent cot looks cool!
