  • Battery relocate ?

Any drawbacks to mounting the battery in the air intake above the fender. I went to a bigger one and can't squeeze it in stock location and under the gas tank is tight. Next place is where Rock Dr mounted his but would like to keep it up front if possible.

I think it would interfier with your Air Flow. Another possible option is on the other side fender, between the exhaust and the firewall. I think, with a little heat shielding, that this might be a better option than in the Air Intake. Either way, it will be a bugger to access.

I am going with that location. I am going to build a tray that covers the fender from the side of the tub to the edge of fender then run braces down to the frame. It will be attached to the tub above the rub rail and sit on the frame. I can then take all the weight of the battery and muffler off the middle of the fender and suck the fender back up to the tray. I think I am going to do something like that in the back as well to take presure off the tub above the rear tires.

The previous owner of my Response slapped a car battery in (I think he said because he had been running down smaller batteries with the aux lights, stereo, cb, winch, etc, etc.) in the regular spot, and carved out the firewall some to accommodate it.
