  • Argo Resto Pics

Hey guys, been a while since I posted on here.

Well, I uploaded a bunch of my argo pics to photo bucket, so I figured I'd post them here.

Here it is, on it's side just finished installing the bearings & axels.

    Seeing how the tires fit:

    21" vs. 22"

    22" clearence:

    21" clearence:

    Getting the chains in:

Rolled er' outside for a photo shoot lol:

    Putting er' back together:

    Battery in:

    Gas tank & seat in:

    Chapparal 440, Carb & Tranny:

    Engine put back in :

    Fire wall in:

    Fuel pump and lines:

New 1" tube fender braces, no bending these babies

Took 7 pulls and she fired to life with the ferociousness of a lion and the smoke of a burning 2 story building... lol

Ready to put the top on!

Test to see how it sits... well... lol

Bolting the top and bottom together: (used 116 bolts... lol)

    Make shift bumper:

Even though it had only two bolts holding it, it worked great, I sunk it almost to the top tub running at a muskeg hole, and I got pulled out by out our HDi with rubber tracks, and the bumper held.

1970s OEM Argo hitch assembly installed:

After my first swamp run with it... embarrassed an 06 Avenger with the 25" Rawhides with my old 21" Chevies... The lightness of the ol' gir prevailed in the end!
(It's a lot cleaner than it was after, becuase I crossed a lake with it, dosen't leak a drop! )

Me & my ol' girl after our first swamp run:

Winch installed on new front wrap around bumper with removable winch plate:

    Misc. pics of er':

The way I see it is that, I'm going everywhere my buddies are going with machines they paid 20,000+ grand for with a machine I paid a total of 800$ for. Throw a set of 22-10-8 AT 189's on it, and I'd equal them, no doubt!

    Thanks for looking!

Nice pics of the rebuild. I am sure you will have a lot of fun enjoying your work.
Even if you’re on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.

Thanks, well, I was enjoying it, until it blew it's CDI... Oh well, I'm replacing the old 440 Chap with a more reliable 640 Rotax.
