I've heard that ODG is building a time machine that will send the whole world back to the 1960's. That will allow them to finally produce a vehicle that appears up to date.

So your saying argo is not up to date?

My dealer told me that argo will be producing a proto-type for 2012 called the Cargo, it's a mix of the Centaur and Argo.

This would make them comparable to this other brand, you know......

Heck I will buy that ODG time machine the 60,s were a great time for six wheeler s tons of manufacturers the machines just kept getting better,we all honed our Mac Gyver skills just to get home,I have had a few Argo,s and looking forward to adding to the fleet and want to own a Mad Max before the dirt nap put it thru the paces and see what they got,as it was in the past every manufacture has some good qualities we must keep a open mind, just imagine where Attex would be now and competition improves the breed.NCT

Since (odg) argo has been in business producing machines for over 40 years & still building them they must have done something right. How many builders are still around out of the 100 + makers?

Got that right! Hmm... well there's two... and well Max is a reliable machine, but they don't have 8x8s! Argo all the way!

Your right they dont..thats about their only down fall honestly... Scariest thing about argo is their oddball transmissions that aint true 6wheel drive or 8wheel drive..

The price of both companies machines is insane...it cant honestly cost 12k or more to build these things..I'd have to say if they dropped their prices considerably, i KNOW ppl would buy them before they bought sideXsides.. I know now that if i had test drove a maxII or MaxIV before i bought my mule..i would have never bought my mule. lol i love my ole attex..it goes everywhere...and i mean EVERYWHERE!
I have officially caught the 6-wheel-sickness!!

"If your gonna be dumb, you better be Tough!"

"I have done so much, with so little, for so long, that I'm now capable of doing practically anything with virtually nothing...."

                BUY AMERICAN..or...BYE AMERICA!!!

I have seen a coversation on here somewhere about the argo trans & what was said was "if it was not true 6x6 or 8x8 they would simply be going in circles" My argo sends power to all 6 wheels equally & i climb hill straight up with out spinning out sideways and facing back down the hill due to a non working limited slip or how ever they work.

Actually jasonk it is very true that they are not a limited slip,or locker and not at all times will it be 6 or 8 wheel drive, having had Argo,s for 35 plus years I have had a few transmissions apart and they are simply a planetary differential without a limited slip.Does this mean that they are not as capable,NO,but what it does mean is that in circumstances that the one side has less traction than the other it will tend to spin that side and not the other,if traction is more or less equal both will spin, this can be overcome by driver input by applying a little brake drag to the side that is spinning and it will then transfer power to the opposite side,if you have one for years then you do it automatically and don't notice it much, the other issue with planetary diff is that when one side is locked up the other side actually overdrives because of the set up,this takes more torque to skid steer, where as the trans used in Max,Attex and many others are locked both side all the time until the stick is pulled which clutch,s that side out then applies the brake and the other side does not have to overdrive so they basically steer in a lower ratio than a Argo, not the end of the world just different, this steering effort was addressed in the Avenger the 8 wheeler has the rear axle placed higher than the rest so on hard surface you are not dragging all eight around.I do not find it to be that big of deal but others that have not drove a Argo and spent their time with only the T 20 trans find it a bit weird to get use to.

It will be deep that's for sure, that said they are not horrid at losing their value but I personally have probably bought my last brand new machine when the Avenger came in to camp, took alot of soul searching to spend what I did then but the last 8 wheeler lasted me 15 years and I sold it with 4500 hours on the clock and putting money spent on maintenance aside,I paid 8200 plus tax for it new and got a little over 5 for it when I sold it mind you it was kept well but all in all it really only cost me $260.00 or so a year to own or .85 cents a hour,so really pretty good its just the initial out lay.
