Ok I am cheap But there was a hole in tub found during rebuild.I had done plastic welding before but just did not feel like buying a welder .yes i know they are inexpensive.But in my rather strange life we were melting balck poly pipe on a job site one day and playing with it dripping .Light buld insert here at this point.I see the the stuff sticks to everything not to mention burn the heck out of you.SOOOooooooooooooo i fire up torch sit there and drip hot poly pipe onto tub it hit and melt s together .Ok can't be that easy it cools oh ho small cracks just heat up puddle it smooths right out, cool it file grind it what ever you want to do.so far still holding up.Just do not burn your self it will hurt like all

Good luck with the adhesion. In my experience the plastic welders don't work as well as a heat gun. Both base material and the weld material need to be heated to approx 500 degrees and squished together with considerable force untill cool. Personally I'd call it plastic fusing not welding. But you're right, it is very easy to end up with burns. -
poly is easy to weld with a wegner air welder. And there is alot of difference between fusion and welding. I fused poly pipe together and it can be brittle at the fused area and break very easy compared to a poly weld. To poly weld with the wegner air welder you put your pieces together clean poly and tack weld with a tack tip. And then use correct size welding rods to fill the gap. You can razor blade it even with the material when done. And its not easy to break the weld. wegner air welder has a 1000 watt element and uses air with a regulator. I can weld poly easy compared to abs hard to get the rod to stick and not smearComment

there in point lies the beauty when it lands on plastic it melts it self together with base plastic. like i said just a strange thing never know when your out therre with a hole in tub and some poly hose .But why you got that hose anyway did you pack too much stuff have funComment
