  • Nooby Question - Older Ago Model Inquiry

    Hello all,
I have a nooby question as I'm wading into the world of AATVs. I'm looking at what is described to me as a 1988 Argo. Its an 8x8 machine and the seller has indicated to me that the model is a V8823. I thought Argo models were named (Conquest, Magnum etc). Is V8823 the actual model name? Serial number provided to me is NKB85523 if anyone can cross reference that anywhere.
Any comments/insights are welcome and thanks in advance.

Thank you to both of you for your replies. For the record, I did find some great info on the beaverdamargo page. I downloaded some manuals and flipped through them from cover to cover which is a pretty good way to get an idea of what you're getting into if you're a soon to be first timer like me. Now, on to the purchase. Thanks again.

Is your machine splined axles or pinned as far as the sprockets go,is the engine green or red in colour?

The 1988 8x8 that i'm considering a purchase on has splined axles or so I'm told. The body is green and the engine appears to be red - a Koehler I'm told.
The 6x6 that I'm also looking at is green in color and I'm assuming the axles are pinned since its a 1980 model. Not sure on the engine, yet.
Both machines are still sight unseen except for pictures. I plan on looking at both of them in the next two weeks.
