  • Hard tops for argos

In talking to a local dealer I asked him about a hard top. His answer was argos do not make a hard top. Are the all the hard top after market and roughly what is the price

Yes they are all custom and range from about 2k -6k and all require a factory windshield. There are three basic companies that build these products. Argo just posted a notice last week that these accesories will now void the factory warranty if lower body damage occurs. Just FYI

    Hope this helps

I wouldn't read too much into Argo,s notice,if they built it, it would not be a issue with warranty but since someone offers something they do not have its a issue. Put a hardtop on it if that's what you want and enjoy.N.C.T

I'd be careful. There are reports that the newer machine bodies don't seem to have the weight carrying capacity that the older machines had. This does not mean that the bodies can't support their design loads and I suspect they can but I've seen pictures here of loads on older conquests that probably exceed design load. I think their policy is fair. It isn't fair to ask Argo to replace a lower tub if you've abused the machine.

I think it would be tough to support a hard top product because guys strap everything including their jeeps on top of those things. (Okay, that was probably an exaggeration)

I'm with ODG on this one. I've wondered how much stress mounting giant hard tops place on the "mating seam" where the body meets the tub (which is where people seem to mount such tops).

Check out the All Seasons Argo website and look at thier pictures. They are the shop here in Alaska and have sold some pretty nice looking fiberglass hard tops in the past. For both the Avenger body style and the Conquest body style.

If the tops are "spread out" on the lip around the outside of the Argo then I would doubt there would be any undo stress on the matting seam of the body (or maybe I sould be glad to own conquest rather than one of the newer - not so tough models).
