I am new to the 6x6 site and have learned a lot from you. I am looking at a new 750HDi. What year did argo start putting the Admiral tran. in the argos? Are they only in the 750?

Tucker, I think the first year the Adimral went in the HDI was 2009. Argo started putting the Admiral in 6x6's in 2011 with the Frontier 650 HD, this is the machine I own. As other owners have stated the transmission has some mechanical noise that you have to get accustomed to, the steering is not as precise as a T-20 but it does offer very good performance in mud and most trail situations. As for me, I have run my machine with Adair tracks since it was purchased, I have put the transmission and the machine through a lot of abuse it has never let me down.Originally posted by Old Tucker View Post
There are certain features that I like about the old style transmission, but I do love the fact that you can turn the Adimral without any power loss and drive down a trail all day with one hand, all this combined with the overall build quility of the Argo makes the Frontier 650 HD my choice. -
Hey Tucker, MightyMax is correct, Argo introduced the admiral trans in 2009 and then offered it in the 650 Frontier 6x6 in September of 2010. There was rumors that they would put it into the 580 Frontier but then put a halt on the idea because they didn't want to make there base model to expensive.Comment
