It would be difficult to haul the 8x8 with your current set up since you are, I assume, at maximum legal trailer length. The Frontier 6x6 will be a nice upgrade over your Bigfoot. They might look a little similar but I assure you the Frontier is 2x the machine. The Frontier's wheel base is slightly longer and the new tires are a great combo for a smoother ride than the Bigfoot could offer. The 8x8 Frontier has the raised front and rear axles just like the Avenger, so turning on hard ground is just as easy as the 6x6. The older 8x8s (Response, Conquest) were under powered and did not have the raised axles so they were more difficult to turn. That made them less fun to drive and turned some people away from them. That is not really the case any more. The 8x8 Frontier should be just as fun to drive and they are awesome on hills. I've never seen a tight wooded trail stop an 8x8 where a 6x6 could get through.

I believe that is the maximum length in some states and most are at 65'. It would be easy to change to a 20' trailer and haul all the ATVs but that would surely result in a ticket, or worse.2008 Argo Avenger EFI 8x8

I'm gonna go with the Frontier 650 6x6
I was bouncing around the 8x8 idea...but really even my Bigfoot is all I need. I'm the only Argo to go out & ride with my friends, all quads & a couple Rhino's. No hunting, no cargo...other then my kids 50% of the time. I think upgrading the power, wheelbase, tires & tranny will be a nice perk. I actually sold my quad too...although I used it last year, I found the Argo more fun taking the kids. The last two trips I took the quad too, but never even started it. Who knows...I was kinda pumped with the new Can-Am Renegade but I'd hate to get soaked on that thing...just not fun. That's why I love the Argo...after a day of muddin', everyone is cold & wet...and I just plug along.

I am building a vintage argo 6x6 to be a Game hauling machine (can't afford a newer machine, and found a great deal on this one). For my use in the rugged mountains of Oregon, I think the extra maneuverability and lightness will give me better ability to haul meat. The kind of dry forest i hunt will mean strategically deciding how far i can realistically go in after a downed elk or mule deer. Not much mud involved, mostly thick sage and boulders, forest and downed trees. If I was hunting whitetails or better yet moose in swamps, then definitely and 8x8 with tracks. But as to which one is better....either one is better than a quad! Slower, but no high centering! Same goes for a Rhino, this is not a race.Last edited by minzwa; 07-26-2013, 10:05 AM.
