  • 1985 HTB Project

First time poster and newbie aatv owner. My friend and I purchased 198? argo 8x8 christmas day although we drove it onto the trailer[no left side brakes] it was pretty much a basket case. The I.D. tag says HTB and the tranny no. has 85 in it so I am guessing 1985. It was obvious a frame out restoration was in order. Issues to be solved are bearings ,seals, axels and the lower tub holes. The ole tec. 16 xtra life seems to be ok except for leaking a little. The tranny is missing low range. I can feel the indent where it should be but nothing, no grinding or growling. Hoping its something simple sheered pin ,key, snap ring. Chains and spockets seem ok. Any good tests for these? I would appreciate any suggestions on any checks or up grades while we have her torn down. I am also looking for sugestions on the tub repair. You can see pics at my album in the gallery.

the HTB was the heavy duty version, mine had the same steering system as the late conquests with short lever and hydraulic brakes. it also had double wide chains all around.
