Here are a few pics of upholstering the firewall in the general. I used a large 1.5" memory foam mattress cover from walmart ($50) and the tent material found on "arctic oven" tents from Alaska tent and tarp. I also used self adhesive 2" pile on the body, and sewed the 2" hook onto the covers. There is a lot of construction to this, but I got it right on about the first try. The noise reduction was substantial. On my old argo I used a wool blanket, because it was flame retardant. I might use wool on the other side of this firewall, it works well. There are three layers of foam on the left and right pieces, for a total of 4.5", I have no idea if this made it any quieter. I think the key is a layer of foam everywhere, not a thick foam here and there. I also did the area right below the windshield, and that seemed to help too. I am going to carpet the inside soon, and foam the rest of the interior.
