I just picked up my 2011 750hdi and proceeded to cruise around on one of our ponds,going up and down the steep banks. This unit is awsome! Anyway, the wife came home and jumped in the drivers seat. We went right back where I had been, down the bank and on the pond. We made it about 10' and broke thru the ice, which was about 3" thick. Sure glad I put the plugs in. Anyway we were stuck in about 7' of water, but I was able to jump out on the ice with the winch cable, hook up and pull us out. Very weird feeling when the ice breaks and your going down, even in an argo.

I broke through on a spring day in a Bigfoot at full speed. ( very wet Whiplash ). I was about ten feet short of a tree on shore with the winch cable and after breaking the only piece of rope I had with me to reach the tree I found a nylon strap under the seat ( dealer bonus gift ) . the foot travel back and forth from the Argo to shore broke up the ice so badly that the last trip back to the machine I was hanging on to the cable as a safety line and the ice was sinking under my feet (Spooky) The next day I was talking to the dealer ( thanking him for the Nylon strap) and he asked why I just didnt BACK OUT. I tried it several days later in a safer area and it works.
