  • My First Test Drive

I went for a test drive today on the new 700. It was awesome. The price tag has got me thinking of the 650 model. The new Admiral Trans. sounds like its a big improvement. However the price tag makes me wonder if its really worth it.
If you had to decide, what would you choose?
Is the extra power really needed? Ill be moose hunting in up in AK and don't really plan on hill climbing to much, but mostly swamp and lake crossings.

Used conquest is the best machine for the money, but just my opinion.

I got the 650HD a year ago and this is my second winter using it as a snow plow on some really serious hills. Im talking hills that you wouldnt dare drive a 4x4 car on unless you wanted to end up upside down at the bottom of a ravine.( I clear the roads for a logging operation). The engine is so powerful that I can usually plow going up hill. ( yes I have rubber tracks). This year I had to re-enforce the plow because the 650 is so powerful that it bent the plow frame pushing back snow banks. That tell you anything? Steve McD.

i like to hear the power. I just dont know if it can justify the extra $$$ for 50cc more and the trans.

I have the 750 EFI avenger and love it for the power it has.. Drug a few moose out of the bush up north, and hauled a fair amount of gear with it... I would opt for the extra power if you can swing it.. It is better to have it than not, in my opinion..
Another thing to conisder is options at the time of purchase.. I got the bilge pump, 4500# winch with the rear receiver mount, rear rail kit, rear tail lights, tracks, outboard motor mount and then bought the gun rack for behind the seat... I did the options at the time of purchase so that the Argo Dealer did all the installs..

The Admiral trany is a nice touch, and a lot better than my previous Bigfoot skid-steer machine. The tranny will actually reverse the track rotation on the inside wheels when you are in low range ( real sweet for mud holes and swamp). I am driving and plowing the same trails now with the new 650 that I did with my old Bigfoot
and its like a hole new consept on traction and power.
