I was really impressed with the custom aluminum cab that Tim has designed. This is the best looking cab that I've seen yet made for an Argo.

Excellent looking machine for sure! I recently read a reply by RC talking about adair tracks swimming much better going in reverse, I believe he said when you start to float put it in reverse and throttle up, not much for control but much faster. This statement intrigged me, not sure how or why this works but sure would like to try it. If only I had the adair tracks off my wish list.

I think the reason that the Adair tracks swim faster going backwards is because more of the track is held up out of the water, thus having a paddle wheel effect.

In that statement he says if you open them up in forward you will actually start going backwards and if you open them up in reverse you actally go forward, he doesnèt say they actually are going faster is reverse , he says you go faster going forward in reverse. I have a hard time comprehending the theory on how this works.

Sawbuck....not sure, but I think I read that comment by RD last week and think he was referring to the factory rubber track...the reason they swim in the opposite direction at high speed is because a solid track has trouble draining quickly and at more than a slow speed they start to carry a lot of water up over the top of the track and throw it out in front of the track which creates a suprisingly good reverse push...like he mentioned, the problem is when you get close to shore you are turning the tracks the wrong direction and they tend to "bump" off the bank...there is a pretty good YouTube video out there that shows a new 8x8 Argo HDI with Adair tracks swimming across a deep pond and it demontrates the effect of gassing it while floating...hope this help you with your question....ps...be careful spinning tracks in reverse very fast as it is a good way the throw a lot of water up on the hood and in the vent screens and sink your ride :-(

                    Thanks Tim

That really explains it well, Man Ive been racking my brain trying to figure that one out when the law of physics are telling me no.I never
doubted that it was true, just could not comprehend. Will check video out. Thanks again
