Well I tried my old Argo in the water this weekend. Almost had to swim. There was a large puncture hole in the front, in the seam between the bottom and front (directly in front of the battery) . It was covered and painted so I never saw it before. Is there anyway that I can fix this? I was wondering if I sanded it real good, if fiberglass would work. After repairing it I was thinking of building a skid plate to protect it. Any insight would be appreciated!

P TEX CANDLE
Hit a ski shop. They use these for fixing the gouges in down hill skis caused by rock encounters. They are about the size of a big pencil. You light them and drip the plastic into the cut. Place a piece of metal or plastic that has a good coat of spray non stick pan coating from your pantry or covered in wax paper behind the area to be fixed. Drip away till the hole is filled. Let it cool and use a sharp scraper to flatten it out or contour to the desired shape. Did this very same thing to my tub trailer and had a similar sized hole from a couple of steel pickets bouncing around. It may take several sticks. They come in many different colours. I carry half a doz under the seat of the Argo now.

Call some body shops or bumper repair places and ask if they do plastic welding they can re-inforce the hole with puckboard as well as fill it in this is a permanent repair {puckboard is 1/8" ridgid plastic sheeting moldable with heat used in skating rinks at the base to prot the wood from skate blades}.
Supreme Plating a bumper rep shop here in Edmonton fixed 1"x8" gouges from track pins in my response 8 years ago no prob. on a side note my kiddies used to stand on the pvt housing clutch guard on my old polaris quad and wore a hole in that they fixed it allso.
