This is some sort of argo ID and found a tag on the dash- ontario drive and gear- K5-190,
and the engine tag is kohler 17hp spec# 24217, model# kt17qs trans# 10440
THE TRAKKER is embossed into the tires

Can anyone identify or info on this carcase and would it be worth restoring to working order or parting it out or scrap it, Its in resto condition???

I just bought one two days a go for $50 that looks close to the one you have.I read an article a couple years ago that told the year models and types of motors.I do think the article said after 78 where the 4 stroke motors.The one i have looks very close except for the holes in the front between the head lights.Do you have double 50 chain.

The one i got has no motor and the trans is froze up but the frame tub and top look good.I bought it for the rims but i think if i can get the trans unstuck i might use it for another project.I would love to make the first argo springer.The first one i know of???

Tub and chains etc are good, Im all about uused equipment, cant see dumping 10k on a newer one to torture so I guess we will go for the resto. I really need to find a tranny or parts to get it started. Ive got a Industrial TORO mower all hydro driven with a small 3 cyl motor I was thinking maybe it could be used as a powertrain???? I might aswell do something crazy??????

Why not try to find a t-20 trans? They are reasonably priced and readily available. With a little fabricating you would have a nice machine.
