  • low psi electric fuel pump recommendation?

Please help with selection of a low psi electric fuel pump?
What kill switch do you recommend?
Do I need to include a pressure reg with it?
What options do I have when pull start the engine (btw, this seems to be the only weakness of electric pump when trying to start up with a dead battery)

I am currently using this fuel pump, Mr. Gasket 42S - Mr. Gasket Micro Electronic Fuel Pumps - Overview - SummitRacing.com located close to my fuel tank to slow down (lower) the psi before it gets to the engine. The pump has a sensor in it to slow or stop pumping to keep it from flooding your carbs. I haven't flooded mine yet, and I have had my Hustler in some pretty arkward angles!! I don't have a regulator on mine at all and it works fine. A regular toggle switch will do fine. As for starting with a dead battery, hopefully you will have a little juice left to power the pump. My battery went dead on me a few times and I always had enough juice to run the fuel pump. I would suggest putting a regular vacuum pump on it for situations like that, which arent that expensive (about $24 at NAPA, $24-$50 on ebay).

Even though you may get laughed at,, when dealing with pressurized fuel, a fire extinguisher is a must. Cbass and I put fire extinguishers in all our machines. I reccommend you doing the same. There's one site member WCouncil, that would have lost his whole machine last Oct. Busco Ride if it wasnt for his fire extinguisher. They are not that expensive and can be found anywhere between $20-$40. In my eyes, safety is a must! I hope that the info helped.
