  • Up grade from mechanical brakes for an old I/C 80s argo your two cents please...

    Hi guys...

Before i go off the deep end buying stuff, i thought I would ask for ideas here. I want to change out the old mechanical brakes to hydraulic ones. i was thinking about using a kit

NEW MCP REAR GO KART BRAKE KIT,M/C,CALIPER,ROTOR,1" HUB | eBay

or maybe using this as the master cylenders:

C26-799-605 - DUAL HANDLE STEERING BRAKE CYLINDER 5/8 INCH BORE

Please let me know your thoughts from "good idea, try it and lets see how it works" to "i have a better idea with cheaper parts"

    thanks so much y'll

Fairbanks AK. If you had any and all parts, that would be cool. I just need two of each, so if you have just one caliper or one master cylender, it would be weird because one side would work better than the other. What do you think of the hydraulic breaks im dreaming of?

      thanks NCT

What I have got is a complete set up off a Avenger, handlebars, masters, lines, and calipers, its used but in good condition,if you are good at fabbing up things and can figure a way to make this work and it isnt a huge bill to send it to Igloo country we can talk, when I get some time this weekend (wishfull thinking) I will weight this stuff up and get some quotes,if you have interest.PM me and I will give you more info. And the things that I seen you post up look a little weak for what you need, and make sure you figure on incorporating a blower assembly to keep the calipers cool.NCT

If you measure them , it is the same. 3/4 bore for the cylenders, and 2 and 1/2 inch pistons on the calipers. But yah, to say im drooling on the keyboard is the under statement of the centery! It would save LOTS of fabrication to make my idea work!

How do they mount to the transmission? Do you have to have the access holes through the rotor?
