The 8x8 says 4 people in the water
It says 2 people but it would depend on the weight of the individuals I would assume it would be 2 good size adults with some cargo but every extra pound will make it sink deeper and go slower in the water.
Time to hit the gym so my Argo can float betterWhy do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

Depends on your definition of safe
There would be many factors like how ruff is the water.
It says in the manual to stay close to shore and not spend too much time in open water.
I am sure they put a safety margin factor in there but once you sink below the tops of the tires you are not moving very fast if at all . If you have an outboard motor on it; it will go with the tires under water but not very fast and unstable. Remember the water speed is approximately 3mph under ideal conditions add in a head wind plus water current and you are not moving with the tops of the tires out of the water. You may get up to 8mp with a 9.9hp motor on it with a light load. You got to think how many people you can put in a boat that is only 8 to 10 ft long and 5 feet wide.
When summer hits I will see how many people I can stick in it and post it on you tube.
Right now my lake is solid ice if I had tracks I would drive on it.Last edited by Robio_8x8; 02-21-2008, 02:05 AM.Why do we waste tax money on bridges and roads when we can all just drive AATVs

I tried putting the outboard on, and had me, my wife, and her (very light) mother onboard... When I turned around at one point, I saw the back end dipping low enough to draw water in over the lip into the back trunk area! I think without the outboard, 3 can do fine... but DEFINATELY NOT 4 in a 6x6... unless they are kids. (still not recommended).---JIM---
I reject your reality and substitute my own...

I had one ex girlfriend freak out on me for buying myself a boat and not a bigger house.
That is why she is now an ex girlfriend.
I can understand a bigger garage for the boat, Argo and maybe a car but even my vehicle is left out side.

I was way overloaded once! It was a bad situation, just inches from being very bad! I was fishing in the argo, and my cousin & his son were in a john boadt near by. Long story short I caught more fish, but their boat started to sink, due to stupidity. NO PLUG"S!!! They weregoing down fast by the time they figured it out! The boatwas about 4/5in from going under, that's when I decided to save the day! I came over in the argo & got them both onboard. (slowly) I was about 200lbs at the time, my cousin 275lbs, and his son 200lbs. That's three people at 675lbs + the cooler full of ice & beerz im guessing 50lbs. It sat very low in the water, and my heart was about to pop, that is untill we got to shore 250yds away.
BTW: the boat did sink about a minute after they got out! It's still there, at the bottom of a 65ft deep man made pond, and the argo just made it out alive!Jeff
