  • *Important Notice* Avenger Skid Plate Inspections

Please remember to periodically inspect your Avenger Skid Plates for damage. The application of water can sometimes make minor damage more visible to the naked eye.

Here you can see how my buddy inspects the bottom of his machine at work.

No humans were injured during this inspection

Good idea! While your are inspecting the skid plate you can make sure your roll bar is up to snuff too!

I hope he was ok and not to much damage was done.

It's hard to see in the pics, but the hill he came down is a little steep. I believe he slipped on the wet grass, just as he aproached the bridge.
This particular bridge is obviously made for quads, and has been brought up as a safety concern now that they are using Argo's to get back into this area. The Company noted that it would be a good idea to replace or modify the bridges, but had not "Gotten around to it". Now they have a bill for having a 206 Chopper fly out to lift the machine out of the creek, and back to the Plant.
Maybe they will now see the dangers of trying to drive wide machines across 4' wide bridges.
Both guys hat were in the Avenger are fine, if a little wet.

maybe next time he will just skip the bridge and just go through the water
If it don't have 6 wheels and floats.. isn't any good to me. Have you ever tried floating a 4 wheeler across a pond... Doesn't work very well does it?

I think there is a little better way to look at the skid plate. But every buddy has their own way of doing things.
If it was not for the roll bar the out come may have been a lot worst for the two.

                        Agreed,
It probably wouldn't be funny at all without the ROPS. But, since nobody got hurt, I reserve the right to pester my buddy about this for years to come, lol

Glad no one was hurt. I think i will put mine on a lift.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways , cigar in one hand, whiskey in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!!!"
