  • Put em to the test

Friday night a friend and I took the wives out on the Conquest because they were complaining they never get to go. After an hour or so I let my friend drive and he tries to drive out of a lake that was very deep on the sides, we end up taking water over the back and down she went. The Argo was still running with the front half sticking out of the water like a cork. I hooked the winch to a tree and started winching, but the tree broke over and the engine sucked up water. We got the truck from the house and pulled it home. During the rescue we got into fire ants and they ate us to the bone. Once at the house I pulled the spark plugs and turned the engine over, then installed the plugs again. After a couple shots of gas in the carb she fires right back up. Saturday was spent going through the Argo getting her 100% again so we could take it to the General Sam off road park Sunday. We spent half the day running the park and finally gave up trying to get stuck. The Adair tracks win, the best we could manage was to get it wedged on it's side in a very tight creek with both tracks off the ground. I would have taken pictures but my cell phone took a swim Friday night when we sunk the Argo. My hat is off to the Adair guys for building a truly impressive track system, even with two flat tires I was still going strong.

How can I repair a triangle cut in the side wall of one of my tires? It is a very slow leak. Has anyone had any luck with putting a patch on the outside of a tire?

Wow Crowhater you really know how to put a machimne to the test. Seems you have already out done me with your Argo in extreme conditions.
Sorry to hear about the tire, but if you are running tracks I would replace it since air pressure is so important to keeping the tracks on.

I have repaired sidewall cuts in balloon tires by glueing rubber from another tire over the cut-make sure you use e6000 adhesive. It will work.

Let us know how the patch works out. I think the track guides will peel it off the tire.
I've patched sidewalls from the inside, but never had any luck from the outside.
