  • Driving without tracks and wheel spacers on?

Just what it says - for those of you with tracks, do you often drop the tracks and drive without taking out the wheel spacers? If so, is it mechanically ok to do? I've heard it's not recommended, but have found nothing to back that up.

It seems convenient to be able to drop the tracks and take the argo to areas tracks aren't needed. It's the taking off all 8 wheels, removing spacers, remounting, etc. that is the pain ....

    What say you?

I run my Max IV that is a factory tracked machine with the 3" wheel spacers and tires. I like the extra width for stability.

It's not an issue to run with extension and without tracks, as long as you don’t mind the Argo being a little wider. This can make it a little more difficult in tight spaces or trailering. Also keep in mind that the wider the wheelbase the greater the strain on the chassis components. By removing them you would see less wear and tear

Agree with above. My buddy's conquest has just under 600hrs on it, pry 575 of those are with extensions and no tracks. I recommended against it from manufacturers info but he hasn't had issues so ???

Another pro to keeping the extension on is that it is easier to span the 4 wheeler ruts. One side or the other is usaly able to grab more traction
