  • Older argo

Hi guys, I own a 1996 response argo and been around argo's all my life, but i recently bought a 1983 argo and it has a KT17 kohler motor, i went to drain the oil and where there is usually a plug, its solid, how do you drain the oil on this engine?

    thanks

stick a tube down the dipstick hole and pump it out. NAPA sells an hand pump for oil.

The KT17/M18 both have drainplugs. It's just a bear to get to 'em, and it's even harder to get a pan under there to catch the oil. On a postitive note, that's one easy way to have rust prevention all over the frame of old Argos. Personally, I use a 12 volt dc pump I bought at a local auto parts store built specifically for sucking oil. Just make sure your oil is warm, but not too hot.
